Week 25:  Read: Continuing with reading from Music of the Soul, read “Al-Hadrat al-Itlaq” (Secret 6) to “How Do I Speak to My God.”  (Total of about 12 pages.) Write: The fourth station of the secret, Al-Qalb As-Sirr: The Heart of the Secret.   Sit in reflection after writing it.

New Practice: Continue to do Wudu and Ghusl regularly.  Do wudu after getting up in the morning. Stay in wudu throughout the day.   Continue to do all 5 prayers daily.  Be sure to Google for the proper time windows to do each of these prayers.  Add doing the Tawba Process to your daily remembrance.  Add getting up in the middle of the night to pray.  The best time is between 2-3 AM.  The veils are the thinnest then. See if you can find a local Sufi group to do group dhikr with.

Memorize a fourth short surah to use during salat. This surah will be the last of what are called the Four Quls.  Here are all the lines of Surah Al Kafirun – The Disbelievers (109:1-6) Bismillahi-r-rahmani-r-rahim – In the name of Allah Most Merciful and Compassionate  Qul Yaa-’ayyuha-l-kafirun –Say: Oh you who cover up the Truth Laa ‘a’budu ma ta’badun –I do not worship what you worshipvWa laa ‘antum ‘abiduna maa ‘a’buduv- and you do not worship what I worship Wa laa ‘ana ‘abiduna maa’a’bud- and you will not worship what I worship Lakum dinukum wa-li-ya din. – To you your religion (din) and to me my religion. (din)

 Recite: 100 repetitions of each of the new Qualities.  Sit in Remembrance for 20 minutes daily.  Continue to recite the Fatiha in Arabic several times a day.  Recite the Wird once a day.  Recite the Qualities you know so far over your food while you are eating it, while taking a shower or brushing your teeth.  Add some form of Remembrance while driving/commuting/running errands.

Each time you notice someone while working or running errands, silently send them a blessing.  Just say Bismillahi-r-rahmani-r-rahim  (In the name of Allah Most Merciful and Compassionate) in your heart on their behalf.  Especially do this if you are having a difficult time containing someone.   I also do this for the dead animals I see along the road when driving.

Next you’re going to begin to memorize ‘Ayatu-l-Kursi.  It is a very important ayat and used in prayers said after the formal salat.  I have included the entire ayat.  It is broken into 9 parts.   Try to memorize 3 parts each week.

‘Ayatu-l-Kursi  The Sign of the Throne – The Cow:255

Allahu laa ‘ilaha illa hu  Al Hayyu- l- Qayyum – Allah No Deity except Him, The Ever Living, the Eternally Present

La ta’khudhuhu sinatunw-wa la nawm – He is taken neither by slumber nor by sleep

Lahu ma fis-samawati wama fil-’ard – To Him belongs all that is in the heavens and the earth.

Man dhal-l-ladhi yashfa’u ‘indahu ‘illa bi’idhnih – Who is there to intercede with Him by His Permission?

Ya’lamu ma bayna ‘aydihim wa khalfahum – He know what is between their hands and behind their backs.

Wa la yuhituna bi-shay’im-min ‘ilmihi ‘illa bima shaa – and they encompass no thing from His knowledge except that He Wills.

Wasi’a kursiyyuhu-s-samawati wa-l-’ard – The Basis of His Sovereignty is wider than the heavens and the earth.

Wa la ya ‘uduhu hifdhuhuma – And He is not tired by their preservation.

Wa Huwa-l-’aliu-l-’adhim – And He is the All High, The Sublime 2:255

The Prophet (saws) made mention of certain surahs and spoke of the blessings that come to the person who read them.  For ‘Ayatu-l-kursi he said: “Whoever reads  ‘Ayatu-l-kursi four times in a row will have the reward equal to reading the Qur’an once.”  Also, “Praise be to Allah who has honored me and honored my community with Surah Ya Siiin (36) and ‘Ayat al-Kursi (2:255) and al–’Ikhlas (112).”

 Recite: 100 repetitions of each of the new Qualities.  Sit in Remembrance for 20 minutes daily.  Continue to recite the Fatiha every time you are consciously choosing to take an action.  Recite the Wird once a day.  Recite the Qualities you know so far over your food while you are eating it, while taking a shower or brushing your teeth.  Add some form of Remembrance while driving/commuting/running errands.

Week 27:  Read: Continuing with reading from Music of the Soul, read “Kashf al-Hadrat Hayat al-Ahl’illahi”  (Total of about 11 pages.) Since these are  available on audio, you can listen to them as well. Read the Qualities: Ra’uf, Malik al Mulk, and Dhal Jalali wal-Ikram.  Add Ra’uf, Malik al Mulk, and Dhal Jalali wal-Ikram to the 83 Qualities from last week.   Now repeat all 86 Qualities in order several times a day until you can repeat all 86 easily.  (Your’e on the downhill slope.)
