Al-‘Allam
The Omniscient
Exalted and Glorious
Know they not that Allah knows their secret ideas, and their najwa (secret counsels) and that Allah is the All-Knower of things unseen? (9:78)
Say: “Verily my Lord sends down the Truth, the All-Knower of the Ghaib (Unseen).” (34:48)
On the day when Allah will gather together the messengers, and say to them, “What was the response you received?” They will say, “We have no knowledge, verily, only You are the All-Knower of all that is hidden.” (5:109)
This name is an attribute of Allah which means the Omniscient, the All-Knowing. Allah knows all about His creatures and nothing is hidden from Him.
The Messenger of Allah, may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, “When anyone wants to do anything, let him pray two prostrations besides the obligatory prayer, then let him say: ‘Oh Allah! Behold, I ask of You the good through Your knowledge, and ability through Your power, and beg (Your favors) our of Your infinite bounty. For behold, You have power, I have none. You know, I know not. And You are the Great Knower of things hidden.’” (Bukhari)
