Al Mu’ti

Al-Mu’ti is the one who is the cause of all causes.  It is a form of ‘ata’ullah, which meas gift of God.  This gift is behind the whole chain of events.  It is the ultimate cause of all existence.  All manifested being, as well as all unmanifested being, is the effect of this single cause.  Al-Mu’ti carries the inner meaning of accepting the gift that is being offered and not resisting it.

Invocation of Ya Mu’ti is an antidote for being overly concerned about the effects of your good deeds or the rewards you might get as a result of your good deeds.  Its repetition is also helpful for those who are convinced that conditions will not allow them to make progress.
