Al-Ilah
The God
Exalted and Glorious
Were you witnesses when death approached Ya’qub? When he said unto his sons, “What will you worship after me?” They said; “We shall worship your Ilah (God), the Ilah of your fathers Ibrahim, Isma’il, and Ishaq, One Ilah and to Him we submit.” (2:133)
And your god is One God: There is no god but He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful. (2:163)
No son did Allah beget, nor is there any god (ilah) along with Him. (If there had been many gods), then each god would have taken away what he had created, and some would have tried to overcome others? (23:91)
Say: “It is revealed to me that your Ilah (God) is only one Ilah.” (21:108)
The name Allah is the essential name of God. Allah is One. He has no partner with Him. This name, Ilah is considered an attribute of the Divine Being. The Supreme Name, Allah is distinguished from everything and also from His attribute Al-Ilal whose meaning can be understood in the saying: “There is no god, but God and He is One God.”
Allah Allah Allah
