Alignment in a Healing Session

Many times healers align with what they think is best for the client. This often means that they think they are healing the person and that the “thing” they are working on must be gone by the time the healing is over.  The healer is listening to his/her own personality, cultural values, or deeply held unconscious beliefs.

As you begin to deepen your ability to a good healer, you must learn to let go of what you want for this client and begin to listen to what God wants for this person.  As you let go of your will power and begin to surrender more and more to God’s will, you will transmit more and more light.  Feelings of  anxiety, fear and confusion (on your part and your client’s) will be replaced with love, peace, contentment and trust.

You must be willing in each moment to look at your self, your motives and actions.  If you notice that you are not fully aligned with God in that moment, then take steps to remember your connection and realign with God’s will for you.  As you do this on a daily basis, even when you are not giving a healing, you will learn:

  • when you are fully aligned with God- what that looks like, sounds like, feels like
  • know when you have lost your alignment
  • discern what events/voices threw you out of alignment
  • how to quickly return to alignment

Maintaining alignment means constantly returning to the source of the love, peace, and mercy.  It is important that you allow yourself to receive these gifts for yourself.  You can only transmit to your client what you, yourself, allow yourself to have.  Sidi Muhammad al-Jamal says, “Begin with yourself.  Help yourself first. Send love and mercy for yourself.  After you have helped yourself, then you can send mercy and love to another.”

Learning to maintain your own alignment amidst all the challenges of daily living in this world will help you to teach others, to heal others, and give them this key for their own healing.  This is how you do your own walking to become the peace, love and mercy of God.
