Sa’di:
If you want
to be in love,
the condition
is that you must not
complain about the Beloved.
But because
of yearning,
tales pour
onto your tongue.
شرط عشق است که از دوست شکایت نکنند
لیکن از شوق حکایت به زبان میآید
‘Abd al-Haqq:
And if
you find yourself complaining
in spite of
your attempts to love,
remember,
the Beloved
sometimes
dresses down
and shows up
at the club or bar or ball,
as you, complaining.
