Weeks 29 – 32

Week 29:  Read: Continuing with reading from Music of the Soul, read “Az Zuhd” up to “Adam.”  (Total of about 15 pages.) Since these are  available on audio, you can listen to them as well. Read the Qualities: MuqsitJami’, and Ghaniyy.  Add Muqsit, Jami’, and Ghaniyy to the 86 Qualities from last week.   Now repeat all 89 Qualities in order several times a day until you can repeat all 89 easily. Write: Since we finished writing all the stations in Music of the Soul, we’re moving to the stations in Path to Allah. Write An-nafs wa Maqam Matiha al-AmarraThe Nafs that Orders to Evil, The First Station. Sit in reflection after writing it. The first station in Path to Allah covers all of the stations of the Nafs from Music of the Soul. How is your experience of this station different than the Stations of the Nafs 1-7 from Music of the Soul?

New Practice: Continue to do Wudu and Ghusl regularly.  Do wudu after getting up in the morning. Stay in wudu throughout the day.   Continue to do all 5 prayers daily.  Be sure to Google for the proper time windows to do each of these prayers.  Add doing the Tawba Process to your daily remembrance.  Add getting up in the middle of the night to pray.  The best time is between 2-3 AM.  The veils are the thinnest then. See if you can find a local Sufi group to do group dhikr with.

Each time you notice someone while working or running errands, silently send them a blessing.  Just say Bismillahi-r-rahmani-r-rahim  (In the name of Allah Most Merciful and Compassionate) in your heart on their behalf.  Especially do this if you are having a difficult time containing someone.   I also do this for the dead animals I see along the road when driving.

Memorize the prayer for peace: Allahumma anta as-salam wa minka as-salam wa ‘alaika ya’udu salam.  Tabarakta rabana wa ta ‘alayta ya dhul jalali wal-ikram.

(palms opened upwards) Oh Allah You are the Peace, and from You comes the Peace.  Give us the Peace.  Blessed art Thou the most High O Lord of majesty and bounty.

 Recite: 100 repetitions of each of the new Qualities.  Sit in Remembrance for 20 minutes daily.  Continue to recite the Fatiha every time you are consciously choosing to take an action.  Recite the Wird once a day.  Recite the Qualities you know so far over your food while you are eating it, while taking a shower or brushing your teeth.  Add some form of Remembrance while driving/commuting/running errands.  The point is to stay connected in every moment of the day.  You are moving to have every breath for and with Allah.

Week 30:  Read: Continuing with reading from Music of the Soul,  read “Adam” to “Al-Warith al Muhammadi.”(Total of about 10 pages.) Since these are  available on audio, you can listen to them as well. Read the Qualities: Mughni, Mani’, Darr and Nafi’.  (Darr and Nafi’ are paired Qualities – worked together.)  Add Mughni, Mani’, Darr and Nafi’ to the 89 Qualities from last week.   Now repeat all 93 Qualities in order several times a day until you can repeat all 93 easily. The second station in Path to Allah covers all of the stations of the Heart from Music of the Soul. How is your experience of this station different than the Stations of the Heart 1-7 from Music of the Soul?

Since these are  available on audio, you can listen to them as well. Read the Qualities: Nur, Hadi, and Badi’. Add Nur, Hadi, and Badi’ to the 93 Qualities from last week.   Now repeat all 96 Qualities in order several times a day until you can repeat all 96 easily. Nas’aluka tawhidal la yuqabiluhu shirk.  Wa ja’al li min kulli dhambinw-wa hamminw-wa ghaminw-wa diqinw- wa sahwinw-wa shahwatinw-wa raghbatinw-wa rahbatinw-wa khatratinw-wa fikratinw-wa ‘iradatinw-wa fa’latinw-wa ghaflatinw-wa min kulli qada’inw-wa ‘amrin makhraja. We implore you for Oneness unassailed by association.  Release me from every misdeed and anxiety and grief and confinement and distraction and enticement and craving and dread and menace and speculation and allegation and irritation and forgetfulness and from every decree and ordinance a way out.  (From as-salauta-l-Mashishiyyah) Wa ‘aghriqani fi ‘ayni bahri-l-wahdah. And drown me in the Source of the Ocean of Oneness.

Since these are  available on audio, you can listen to them as well. Read the last 4 Qualities: Baqi, Warith, Rashid, and Sabur. Add Baqi, Warith, Rashid, and Sabur to the 96 Qualities from last week.   Now repeat all 99 Qualities (plus Allah for 100) in order several times a day until you can repeat all 99 easily.
